Terms of service

1. The service

TownHub is a local discovery platform ("we", "us"). It lists businesses, jobs, advertisements and town news for selected South African towns. By using the site or submitting content you agree to these terms.

2. Listings

Listings are paid placements submitted by the business owner or an authorised representative. We review every submission and may decline, edit for clarity, or request changes before publication.

You warrant that the information and media you supply is accurate, lawful, and yours to use. We may remove content that is misleading, unlawful, or infringes the rights of others.

Listings run for the purchased period and expire automatically unless renewed. We send renewal reminders to the contact email on file.

3. Job listings

Job listings are posted by employers, and applications go directly to the employer. We are not the employer, recruiter or agent for any listed position and do not charge jobseekers. Report suspicious listings to us immediately.

4. Advertising

Advertising placements are subject to availability and our acceptance. Sponsored content is always labelled. Campaigns start and end on the agreed dates; creatives must comply with South African advertising standards.

5. Payments, cancellations and refunds

Payments are made via a payment link (e.g. Payfast) after approval. We do not store card details. If we cannot publish an approved, paid item, you receive a full refund. Once a listing, job or advert is live, fees for the current period are non-refundable, except where required by law.

6. Content corrections and removal

Use the contact form to request corrections or removal. Verified corrections are made promptly. Business owners may request removal of their own listing at any time.

7. News

News items are original TownHub stories written and edited for selected towns.

8. Liability

We provide the platform with reasonable care but make no warranty that information supplied by businesses or employers is complete or accurate. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the platform.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new effective date.
