Privacy policy
Effective 1 June 2026
1. Who we are
This policy explains how TownHub ("we", "us") handles personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
2. What we collect
Application forms: name, email, phone number, business details and any content you submit for publication.
Published listings: the business contact details you ask us to display publicly.
Technical data: aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics (page views, referrers, device type). We do not build personal browsing profiles.
3. Why we collect it
To process applications, publish and maintain listings, send payment links and renewal reminders, respond to enquiries, and keep the platform safe. We process this information with your consent and to perform the service you request.
4. What we never collect
We never store card numbers, CVVs or banking credentials. Payments happen on the payment provider’s secure pages (e.g. Payfast). We do not store jobseeker CVs.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with service providers needed to run the platform (hosting, email delivery, payments) and where required by law. Published listing details are public by design, at your request.
6. Retention
Applications that are not approved are deleted within 12 months. Unapproved uploaded media is deleted within 30 days. Published content is retained while the listing is active and for a reasonable archive period afterwards. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
8. Contact
For any privacy request, use the contact form or write to the email address shown on the contact page.
